Histoire :
Ce bateau Gold Cup de Ted Jones était à l'origine de Hunstville, Alabama. Le propriétaire, A.B. Treffer, avait enregistré le bateau avec l'APBA au nom de Water Flyer F-33. Il était propulsé par un moteur 265 Chery de Corvette 1957 fabriqué pour Burb King par Norm Berry aux ateliers mécaniques de Bob Schroeder de Buffalo, NY.  Le bateau est déménagé à Columbus, Ohio d'où il a couru jusqu'en 1971. Le F-333 a été conservé dans les boules à mites à Clintonville, Ohio pendant 35 ans par le chef d'équipe et co-propriétaire Dave Nicholson. Dave a vendu le bateau et le moteur à Kevin Klosterman qui a enregistré le bateau au nom de Aqua Flyer en 2003.

Le bateau a couru pour la première fois à Louiseville, Kentucky au Roar On the River avec Ron Snyder au volant. Le Aqua Flyer n'a pas seulement une histoire fascinante mais le futur de ce puissant bateau Vintage s'annonce excitant car l'équipe prévoie participer à plusieurs autres évènements Vintage dans le Midwest Américain en 2006.

This Ted Jones Gold Cup hull was originally from Huntsville , Alabama . The owner was A.B.Treffer who had the boat registered with the APBA as the Water Flyer F-33 . The motor is a 1957 Chevy 265 Corvette engine which was built for Durb King by Norm Berry, at Bob Schroeder’s engine shop in Buffalo , NY . The boat was moved to Columbus, Ohio and raced in the mid sixties to 1971 The F-333 boat was mothballed in Clintonville, Ohio for 35 years by the crew chief and co-owner Dave Nicholson. Dave sold the boat and engine to Kevin Klosterman who then registered the boat as the Aqua Flyer in 2003. The boat was ran for the first time in Louisville , Kentucky at the Roar on the River event with Ron Snyder driving.  The Aqua Flyer not only has a fascinating history, but the future of this powerful vintage boat also looks to be exciting as the boat’s crew is planning on attending several more of the vintage events throughout the midwest in 2006.
