Wednesday July 2nd
12 Grand Prix and fierce competition are
expected
Starting Friday morning it's a total of 12 Grand
Prix boats that will be competing on the water of the St-François
bay. Against all expectation and after confirming that he couldn't
make it, Gerry Hopp and the Hard Lemonade GP-15 will finally make
the long trip from the West Coast to Valleyfield to participate in
the biggest Grand Prix battle in a long time.
To win the title, Gerry Hopp will be challenged by
11 fierce competitors. Out of which we have:
The duo Jeff Richard & Bert Henderson, our current GP leader
with the GP-247 Deepwater Special.
Pierre Maheu, strong and regular at the command of the GP-1001
Dinomytes.
Jimmy Shane who will want to prove that he can be a strong contender
with GP-7
Long Gone.
Claude Bergeron most likely will want to keep the title of
Valleyfield champion with his new GP-444.
Tom Pakradooni will want to keep his Jersey Speed Skiff habit of the
first step of the Valleyfield podium with his Rolling Thunder GP-88.
Mario Maraldo (GP-59 Baby Doll) will want to do well for his 70's.
For Scott Liddycoat it will be an opportunity to show that he is
worthy of the number 1 of his boat
Marty Wolfe behind the wheel of the GP-93 Renegade (formerly the Pleasure Seaker GP-2)
will most likely be one the favorite.
Ken Brodie with his GP-50 surely whishes that all the bad luck are
behind him.
And last, probably one of the most experience team of them all , GP-777 The Crush
of Huey Newport,
Mike Endress, Todd Roesch, Bud Keating and Tom Baker will be to
watch closely with Patrick Haworth on board has he will want to
empress all his fans.
GP-10 of Charley and Milton Wiggins should
complete the fleet.
All the cards are on the table for an exciting
week end of racing. All the bets are on now.
